If the thought of going to the dentist makes you uneasy, you’re not alone. Our gentle sedation techniques are designed to help you relax, so you can get the care you need without fear or discomfort. Your comfort is our priority—every step of the way.
Yes, sedation dentistry is safe when provided by trained and experienced professionals. Sedation options are carefully selected based on your medical history, current medications, and individual needs. A thorough evaluation is always conducted beforehand to ensure the safest and most appropriate method is used.
Not necessarily. Your level of consciousness depends on the type of sedation used. With nitrous oxide (laughing gas), you'll stay fully awake but feel calm and relaxed. Oral sedation provides a deeper sense of relaxation—you’ll still be conscious and able to respond, though you may feel drowsy and have little memory of the procedure. Only general anesthesia causes complete unconsciousness, and it's typically reserved for complex procedures or patients with extreme dental anxiety.
The duration of sedation effects depends on the type used. Nitrous oxide wears off quickly, allowing you to drive yourself home and return to normal activities soon after your appointment. Oral sedation lasts longer and may take several hours to fully wear off, so you'll need someone to drive you home. General anesthesia has the longest recovery time, requiring a ride home and someone to stay with you for at least 24 hours. You'll receive detailed aftercare instructions tailored to your procedure and personal needs.
