At Lakeway Dental Associates in Lakeway, TX, we offer implant-supported dentures as a secure and comfortable alternative to traditional dentures. If your current dentures slip, cause irritation, or limit your ability to eat and speak confidently, this advanced solution could be right for you.
Dr. Fawzy are experienced in restoring smiles with implant-supported dentures, helping patients regain stability, comfort, and confidence.
With this treatment, you'll benefit from a natural-looking smile, improved chewing function, and dentures that stay firmly in place—no adhesives needed.
In this type of implant-supported denture, a thin metal bar is attached to the dental implants in your jawbone. The denture is designed to snap onto the bar, providing a secure and stable fit. Bar-retained dentures offer excellent support while allowing for easy removal for cleaning and maintenance.
Also known as stud-attachment dentures, ball-retained dentures use ball-shaped connectors on the dental implants that fit into sockets on the underside of the denture. This design provides a firm attachment, allowing the denture to remain securely in place while still being removable for cleaning.
Both options provide increased stability and comfort compared to traditional dentures, and Dr. Fawzy will work with you to determine the best option for your specific needs.
Your journey to implant-supported dentures begins with a thorough consultation with Dr. Mourad Fawzy:
Oral Examination: We will evaluate your oral health, discuss your goals, and determine if implant-supported dentures are the best solution for you. Digital X-rays and 3D imaging may be used to assess the health of your jawbone and determine the ideal placement for your implants.
Treatment Plan: Based on your evaluation, we’ll create a customized treatment plan that outlines the steps of your procedure, including the type of implant-supported dentures that will work best for your needs.
During the next phase of your treatment:
Implant Surgery: Dental implants are surgically placed into the jawbone. These implants act as the foundation for your dentures, providing stability and support.
Healing Period: Over the next few months, the implants will fuse with the jawbone in a process called osseointegration, creating a strong and durable base for your dentures. In some cases, temporary dentures may be placed during this healing period.
Once the implants have fully integrated with your jawbone:
Fitting Your Dentures: Your custom implant-supported dentures will be attached to the dental implants using either a bar or ball-retained system. Dr. Fawzy will ensure that the fit is secure and comfortable, providing you with a functional and natural-looking smile.
Final Adjustments: We will make any necessary adjustments to ensure your dentures fit properly and provide maximum comfort and function.
